Arctic Chalks’ Co-founders and Minneapolis locals, Torin Skoglund and Kai Alton sought to bring to a product that leaves a positive impact within the climbing community and beyond. For every bottle sold one dollar is donated to Save the BWCA Foundation. In our pursuit to bring quality climbing products to the crag and to the gym, we strongly value feedback and testing. Formulating a great smelling, fast drying liquid chalk didn’t happen quickly, but we didn’t rush it. We gave out samples, gathered feedback, revised our formula and process and repeated this.

Hi, my name is Torin and I love to rock climb, play soccer, and do anything and everything outdoors. I grew up right here in Minneapolis and I’ve enjoyed bouldering since starting 5 years ago. At Arctic Chalk, I’ve done lots of projects and research on new ideas for the growth of the company!

Kai Alton

Head Designer - Founder

Kai is an industrial designer and outdoor enthusiast. He's in charge of the company's graphic and web design, and helps with new product development.
I love destination-less bike rides and impromptu picnics. My favorite snacks while bouldering are honey mustard pretzels!

Nico Phillips

Nico works in the climbing industry and has a passion for both design and climbing. As of 2023, Nico is stoked to join a team dedicated to enhancing the climbing experience and having fun while doing so.
